Layadi Parfums is a niche perfume house based in Calgary, Canada. It was founded on three ideas: that perfumery is an art form, that storytelling and aesthetics are as important as scent, and that the community should have a say in the creative process.
The house grew from its founder’s obsession with fragrance. Years of collecting gave way to years of studying perfumery, as she found herself constantly imagining alternatives: more of one note, an unexpected layering, or the addition of an unusual note.
The visual and narrative language of Layadi is inspired by history, mythology and ritual. The perfume, its story, and its visual world are conceived as one, with every detail serving the concept and contributing to a piece of art meant to be experienced and remembered.
The house plays with contrasts, uncommon notes, and unexpected pairings to give each fragrance a unique character using rare extracts and ingredients sourced from around the world. Each perfume begins with an idea, and that idea is allowed to develop without any budget or time constraints. It is then brought to life with obsessive attention, carried through to even the smallest details.

We call our approach forbidden perfumery. It does not mean that every single Layadi perfume is dark and provocative. It is a philosophy of creation: allowing an idea to come to life without asking whether it will appeal to everyone.
